The Kiwanis Club of LaGuardia Airport and LGA Port Authority Kids Day 2009
Kids Day 2009
More than 2000 youngsters and their families attended LaGuardia Airport's annual Kids Day on 9/26/09 sponsored by the LaGuardia Kiwanis Club and the LGA Port Authority. This event has been a major Club and LGA Airport event for over 25 years.
The original impetus for creating Kids Day was to have a way for Club Members and LGA Airport employees to show that they are good neighbors, and show their appreciation to the surrounding communities. Also, it was hoped that children would be encouraged to become interested in aviation.
LGA Kiwanis owes the success of this program to the coordinating expertise of Warren Kroeppel, General Manager of LaGuardia Airport (Board Member) and his fantastic Port Authority Crew, and Port Authority Police. Also, the many Club Members, Key Clubbers, Circle K and Civil Air Patrol volunteers who come, year after year, to serve thousands of free hot dogs, to our 'security team' overseeing the smooth flow of the crowd so all can enjoy the up close and personal experience, the very patient face painters donated by Market Place Development, the brave group of very wet 'dunkees' in our dunk tank, the contributions from our commercial airline partners & vendors, Skytypers' airshow and the 'loan' of the awsome military and antique aircraft for the day. To ALL - THANK YOU!

The Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Kit is a child-sized ambulance equipment kit which was compiled to meet most on-scene emergency needs of children. The kits are donated to fire departments and ambulance services under the auspices of the local Kiwanis clubs in each community.
North Shore University Hospital and the New York District of Kiwanis international created the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center at the hospital in 1991, merging the Kiwanis commitment to serve children and local communities with North Shore's commitment to medical excellence, outreach, and education.
